Note: Due to the overburdened ferries the Maritime Services Board told the GPS Secretary, Jacky Pope (also Shore's Sportsmaster) that they would no longer give permission to hold the regatta. "From 1936 to 1940 the races were held upon the Nepean River, one of the best rowing courses in the world. It allows the eight crews to row abreast over a perfectly straight sheltered course. In 1946 (after the War) it returned to the Nepean, with an expansion of programme to 5 races." - LC Robson, 25 June, 1946.

After the war began a shortage or male teachers meant the School hired female teachers.
