The President of the Old Boys' Union Andrew Winslade (87) attended Assembly on 15 September to announce the recipient of the OBU Scholarship for 2016.

The Scholarship is awarded to a boy in year 12 in recognition of his contribution to the life of the School, reflecting a positive attitude to scholastic endeavours; constructive relationships with peers and staff; involvement in leadership activities and an eager participation in co-curricular activities and in games was awarded to Sean Hayashi.

Sean who was greatly humbled by the announcement, was one of five boys interviewed for the Old Boys' Union prize.  Hamish Sheehan, Charlie Cox, Kevin Liman and Ted McLennan were the other four boys interviewed.  Hamish, Charlie, Kevin and Ted should all take heart that they had been chosen from a great deal more from the year in being selected on the short list for interview.

The OBU takes pleasure in seeing the funds applied to unique experiences that enrich the life of the Old Boy as well as community groups and/or causes that they may suit.  The OBU is looking forward to following Sean's progress over the next few years.
