Some 75 members of the 1965 and 1966 Alumni attended a combined School reunion on the evening of 4 December 2015. Held 50 years to the day on which they left School, the event was held on the Verandah of Graythwaite following a very successful Speech Day at which the retiring Deputy Headmaster Graham Robertson was the guest speaker.
Steve Rattray as Convener addressed those in attendance with a slice of history of world and local events that took place in 1965, while both David Armati (Second Prefect 1965) and Andrew King (Senior Prefect 1966) spoke of their time at the School and of the connections forged during that time. Andrew having spent many years as an OBU representative on School Council spoke of the buildings that had been erected on the main School campus and the Northbridge playing fields over the past 50 years.
Guest Speaker Graham Lewarne (54) who taught many from both years gave a wonderful 10 minute Toast to the School which was extremely well received.
Steve Rattray will supply a more comprehensive report in the near future which will be published in the March 2016 edition of Shore Reports.
